For those who want to book an Airbnb or other home rental, we recommend you book one in one of the following neighborhoods: Queen Anne, Fremont, Wallingford, Capitol Hill. Make sure your Airbnb or rental has A/C. Many homes out here in Seattle don't have A/C since it didn't used to get as hot during the summers.

Seattle's Famous Market. Come see the famous salmon throwers and sample some of Seattle's incredible seafood and produce. Hellenika Cultured Creamery is a must-stop for frozen dairy lovers on a warm day.

Pike Place Market

A Seattle City Pass grants entry to up-to-5 of Seattle's tourist attractions over a 9 day period. Any of these is worth doing on its own for a few hours but if you're here for enough time, this is a great option. It automatically includes:- The Space Needle- The Seattle Aquarium (Great!) And up to 3 of:- MoPOP: Museum of Pop Culture (For the very nerdy. Full of cool memorabilia from Film, TV, and Music.- Chihuly Glass Museum and Garden- Argosy Cruises Harbor Tour- Woodland Park Zoo- Pacific Science Center

Seattle Pass

The Mariners will be hosting The Minnesota Twins July 31 to August 2 and the Detroit Tigers August 4-6. T-Mobile is usually a great atmosphere and might be even greater as the reigning AL West Champion and ALCS runner-up Mariners try to go even further in 2026

Stephen's favorite. Not the biggest market but every vendor is top notch.

University District Farmers Market

Great for its waterfront views and cocktails.

Great food, but it's a smaller restaurant. Good for 2-4 group activity.

The Pink Door

Hiking/Parks

Seattle and the surrounding area has some incredible walks and hiking. There are great municipal parks where you can forget you're in a major city, incredible options to hike up mountains under an hour's drive from downtown, and 3 National Parks: Mt. Rainier, Olympic, and North Cascades that you can extend your trip to see.

A near-600 acre park in Seattle's Magnolia neighborhood. Hannah and Stephen love to park in the south lot, take the South Beach trail to the beach and lighthouse, take the North Beach trail uphill, and the loop trail back to the lot when we feel like we need a 5-mile hike. Lots of great shorter hikes and incredible views of the Cascade Mountains across Puget Sound.

Discovery Park

A 230-acre park near The Capitol Hill neighborhood. Run jointly by the city and the University of Washington, it features a wide variety of trees and plants and lots of good trails to walk.

Arboretum Garden

Mt. Si has many great trails on it. The Little Si hike is accessible for most with great views. For a longer hike with more of a climb, look for the Mt Si Trailhead. Both of these trailhead parking lots will fill early so try to go early.

Little Si Trailhead

Lake 22 is a steeper hike but ends on a glorious lake. Worth the effort if your knees can take it.

Lake Twenty-Two Trailhead

Golf

Host of the 2015 US Open, this is Stephen's favorite place to play. No carts and its quite a hike. A caddy is great to point out the insider knowledge that's helpful to take advantage of all the unique rolls on the course.

Chambers Bay Golf Course

Another Great Course. Sometimes called mini-Chambers. The 7th hole has a stunning view of Rainier (shown above).

The Home Course

A short drive from downtown, the best muni in the city with some great views.
